Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Baskets Of Joy has been in business for about 20 years, and was purchased by longtime employee & basketmaker Anna Granger in 2007.
What is your primary product or service?
We sell the best quality basket supplies, patterns and kits for basketmakers across the country.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Anna made her first basket when she was given a basket kit over two decades ago. She's been making baskets, teaching basketmaking, and creating kits for basketmakers ever since.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I love basketmaking and helping other weavers to make the best possible baskets. I only sell the quality materials I use in my own baskets, and pride myself on listening to the needs of the weavers who place their orders with me.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Baskets Of Joy is located in rural Maine, but has a global presence through our website. We ship all over the United States and Canada, and have pleased customers in the U.K., Japan, and parts of Europe.
